Looking for help with exhaust
Could anyone help with identifying ths line?
I've begun work on a custom header and want to know if I need to incorporate this into it. 1985 GS 12a Automatic https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...91892a2b01.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...ccb1df6f51.jpg |
It blows air into the exhaust to keep the reaction going in the catalytic converter. I think you only need to keep it if you plan on keeping the air pump and need to pass emissions.

That is supposed to be a cat at that location. That tube injects air in the input to that cat. Just took my first cat off yesterday to solve a really hot floor board. The first cat was clogged.

FYI, that cone-shaped bulge is a one-way air valve to keep the exhaust where it belongs and from coming back up the pipe into the Air Control Valve and Air Pump.
