Looking for help with exhaust
 
Could anyone help with identifying ths line?

I've begun work on a custom header and want to know if I need to incorporate this into it.

1985 GS 12a Automatic

It blows air into the exhaust to keep the reaction going in the catalytic converter. I think you only need to keep it if you plan on keeping the air pump and need to pass emissions.

That is supposed to be a cat at that location. That tube injects air in the input to that cat. Just took my first cat off yesterday to solve a really hot floor board. The first cat was clogged.

FYI, that cone-shaped bulge is a one-way air valve to keep the exhaust where it belongs and from coming back up the pipe into the Air Control Valve and Air Pump.

No need to pass emissions on it here.

My other car is a hybrid, so I like to think I"m doing my part...
