No but cool find.

Now that's the sort of incentive that actualy makes me want to buy a car, and back then Mazdas were actualy cool.

Naegleria_Fowleri 12-29-06 02:04 AM

Yeah, that is really cool.

I've got one hanging on my wall in the study, looking at it as I type this. I don't remember how I got it, but I'm thinking Mazda just sent it to me. I bought a 79 new and an 81 new, back in the day.

and reading the letter that makes sense. This is the first time I've ever seen it other than the one I've got.

cool, what color do you have?

cpa7man 12-29-06 07:15 PM

Looks kind of like a charcoal color, or a dark blue. Looks the same as what you posted except darker.

I have one around here someplace. Same color as the misty blue 83. It just came in the mail one day.

So what color was your 79 and 81 ? Was your lithograph a match to that? It says "in your own car color". I'm guessing it was the 79, since the litho has rubber baby buggy bumpers and cobweb wheels.

My understanding from an old mazda dealer is that depeding on the dealership they could have the print sent to you from mazda, get this in the same color as your car and it was a promotional item for new car owners, it was not done for everyone or by all dealers.

bought one like this on ebay a few years back. Think this was a "thanks" from Mazda USA to new RX7 buyers...

My 79 was the charcoal color (I forget the exact name), kind of like the print. My 81 was gold.
