Less expensive full exhaust system?
 

I've been looking/searching around quite a bit, and the only full exhaust system that I can find is at racing beat. I plan on streetporting my engine after it's rebuilt, so I would like to get as much power out of it as possible by opening up the exhaust flow.

What I need to know is this: Why does the racingbeat.com streetport exhaust system cost $800? Is there any specific reason, besides the fact that it's a brand name? I couldn't find anywhere that said that it was stainless steel, and it definitely doesn't look to be stainless steel.

Or could it just be that the RX-7 exhaust is a little difficult to piece together? I would assume it would be pretty much the same as a piston engine.

Are there any other places I could find a full exhaust system that would give me the flow I would need to get the most out of a streetported 12A, non-turbo?

P.S. I do realize that the Racing Beat exhaust system comes with pretty much the whole exhaust, i.e. the headers, cats, mufflers, etc.

I'm not sure about the SA/FB system but I have a turboback for my FC. The reason they cost a lot is partly because, yes, they are a big brand and do more research in the design than some eBay exhaust.

But I mostly love it because the quality is very good. The welds are top notch and everything fits fine. The exhaust can last the lifetime of my car too. Plus these guys have been working with rotaries since the early days too so they know what they're doing.

Also, since rotaries have high exhaust temps, I hear they can burn out cheap mufflers after a while.

Its nothing like a piston engine. Rotaries run LOTS hotter & louder than piston engines. If you buy a V8 exhaust for a rotary, it will be fryed in 6 months & too loud to drive to work w/. You need heavy duty pipes & RB has researched them providing a variety of choices. Don't waste your money on other street sh*t.
