Leak in Clutch Master Cylinder ?
I'am having a problem with my clutch. I checked the fluid and it was black and I knew that the master cylinder had to be going bad. It has no pressure on the clutch pedal what so ever. So I ordered a new one and installed it but now when I start off I can hear the clutch slipping like if the slave cylinder is not working correctly...Has anyone had this problem before. I'am kinda out of ideas what else could be wrong any help greatly appreciated.:)

Everybody always says to replace the master and slave cylinders at the same time.
I'd highly recommend it :-) (they're both fairly cheap) |
whoa... I had the exact same question...was about to post that...looks like you beat me to it!

Replace both. And it helps bleeding them if you put a little fluid in each before mounting them. After they're mounted the stroke is shorter so it takes more work to get them fully bled.
Also, that damn flexi-hose can leak discreeetly, so it's hard to detect, so always replace the flexihose. B |
yeah, you need to bench bleed first. makes a difference
big time. when the fluid turns dark, thats a sign, and it's all down hill from there. |
Mine was completely rusted. Both were froze. The car had been sitting since '97 . I literally took all more than 100lbs to push the clutch in.
