Keep it classic or turn up the boost?

Hey guys just bought a mint 79 rx7. Wanted to know if it worth anything fully restored. If not i was going to turbo it and bring it to the track. But if it worth something to restore it to classic condition i might think about doing that. Please let me know

The blue book value doesn't do most of these cars ANY justice in terms of their true value :(

i hear yah

yep.. thats part of the reason I've chosen the fb for my first car. classic, collectable looks and possibilites, without the classic, collecable price!

of course, that means that you can never expect to sell it for as much as its worth.

it also means the answer is boost.

It's going to be worth about as much as it costs you to paint it. You have to ask yourself this one question: Who are you building it for? - you, or the next owner. You won't get out of it what you invest in it in either form, so there goes the monetary portion of this quandry. So you're left with building whatever you would like better, or what you think the next owner would like better.

For me the answer is easy.

Just make sure that if you're going to boost it, you aren't planning on selling the car. Pretty much forever, because you will not get back the money you put into it.

do whatever makes you happy thats the main thing.

82transam 01-26-03 02:24 PM

yea, its your car, build it the way you want.

eddierotary 01-26-03 03:51 PM

yeah is your car, is your decision to keep it classic or boosted. but my opinion is to keep it stock.
