Junkyard Find

Went to this junkyard in a neighboring county today.
A guy came in to my work
1 SA two FB's, only one fb wasn't wrecked, and the engine was dissasembled in the hatch.
But the sa front end was really smashed more than I'd ever seen before.(for an rx-7.)
It's a real shame this car sat there with no hood, for atleast 6 years, maybe 10. RacingBeat everything, powe pulse breather, genuine modified holly and intake. And a header.

600+ worth of parts rotted.
Got the carb and intake, I didn't want the carb it was so bad, didn't have the tools to get it off, good thing I had a 12 to get the manifold off.
Might go back and get the header, looks ok on top but the car is on the ground so i think the underside of it is probably gone.

got a clear roof too, lexan though.
Didn't really get the stuff for a steal, but it was a great find.

Congrats yo, did they have a hood, cuz mine did get some dent's in it. I just noticed them, they are minor but once we get it all peiced back together and painted it will be alot more noticible. I think some bondo will help it, well see though.

fuel pump and pressure regulator?

JAMES-RX-007 02-05-04 09:57 AM

It makes me want to cry when I see how these junkyards treat our cars. What a waste. What a business that needs to be restructured along the lines of a few regional specialty parts recyclers like Mazda Recycling has done on the left coast. There are 40 some odd different make recyclers in that county that all disassemble the cars and catalog the parts. Our current junkyards are dinosaurs that do not preserve their product or market it. How can one find a part if one cannot figure out who has it and then you find them and they do not know what they sell. All of you with boneyards near you are lucky.

Damn that shit sounds like a score , a little bit of elbow grease and you should be in some serious business

No regulator under the hood, and the car was on the ground so not sure about a pump, if there is one, i doubt it's worth pulling off, the only real usable part was the aluminum manifold.

I'll take a closer look at the header next time I go.
It'll be a pain to jack it up then lay on the wet oil soaked ground.
It was a 1/4 mile walk up hill to get to the yard.
I passed by this place lots of times and never noticed the yard on the hill, it's only visable in the winter.
probably still wouldn't haven't noticed if this guy hadn't come in the shop and told me they had some 7's there.

Not sure about the instrument panel, I think I have one laying around the shop with 125k on it.
I'll look and see.
