jacobs nitrous mastermind experience

Anybody has any experience with this module?

Planning to do a install using a NOS brand direct port system and run it off progressily with the jacobs mastermind and either a crane or mallory ignition sys.

Any inputs...?

Thanks

They have tested it in a couple of the mustang mags. Always got good reviews. Only thing they didn;t like about it was the knobs. They don't have any detents to half way hold them in position if they get bumped. So a slight rub agaist them will change them easily. Other than the amount of cycling it puts the injectors through, pretty darn neat product for the money.

One question though? Have you ran nitrous before?
I always thought about getting one, but always seemed to want the whole amount straight from the get-go. If you have problems hoking up the extra power, spend the money on better tires :)

I have experience with the Opto timing or Jacobs Boost reference retard system. I actually have one in my shop which will install soon on a turbo car, but I kept on looking at the jacobs mastermind instructions and it seems like a great alternative to the newer systems like ZEX, Venom etc. They all have the same concept but only work for fuel injected vehicles.

I own a 12a with a weber carb and plan to run a direct port fogger system. So this system is great for my old car. I have spare engines one that I'm dying to pop into my car (it's got a nasty big old streetport) and my current engine is still stock ported, I think I'm ready for the next "big" step still without cracking the block open.

Since this setup is completely tuneable it has the following features which make the system pretty safe. It has a nitrous "on" timing retard so you can run advance timing like at Yaw setting while off the bottle and retard a precise amount when spraying. Another neat feature is the fact that you can set the % of nitrous per RPM. What you mentioned about the cycling is the only thing I'm worried about, about frying the solenoids from the cycling...
about the knobs being easily moved by an accidental bump I'll fix that by placing the unit inside the glove box :)

thanks randy
