isc racing muffler?

http://www.iscracing.net/exhaust.htm

I'm thinking of getting the isc racing muffler for my '83 project car(see the sig for pics). It is street driven. I don't care if it's loud, just so it sounds ok. I'm sure it won't be any louder than those little ricers(honda's etc.). If not the ISC muffler, which one to get?

Any one have one of these? Experiences? I've done some searching on the board here and didn't find much. They have a 3" mid pipe that should weld right in.

If you look at the pics, you'll see my old exhaust, the glass packs have been long since blown out. They were on the car for at least 15 years, and no packing for 10 of those. The car has basically been running with nothing but a $40 turbo muffler since ~96. I have joined the header outlet into one 3" pipe and put a moroso spiral flow right after the header.

I hope to get the engine dropped in this weekend :D :D :D

thanks

They build race cars so I bet it would work well.

I had an elchepo on my 79 SP for a bit and it was so loud it gave me a headach. I changed it out to an RB and have been very Happy.

Its a Dynomax 3" in and out straight thru muffler. I bought one from Summit. Its on my racecar. Its too loud for the streets. I did buy his mandrel bent pipe. Its ok, but I had to cut it and change a couple of the angles. I also bought the center collector with the presilencer. For a racecar its fine, but too loud for the streets.

I hope you're kidding. I can think of a number of guys that sell mandrel-bent shit, and just because they race doesn't make the turd any more polished.

With that said, any straight through pipe will be too loud for the street.

It's really difficult to find a muffler that everyone agrees is good for the rotaries. I think I'll go with the magnaflow 5x8 oval 3" o/c ( # 14251) for now. Then I can go louder with the ISC later ;-)

Just so you know, the Magnaflow probably isn't going to be any quieter. I run two presilencers in my setup and it's still too loud. If I don't pussyfoot it around town, there is a real risk of getting my ass pulled over.

That's admittedly with only one presilencer, but the other one doesn't quiet it down THAT much. I think I melted the packing actually, cause it was quiet for about three days there when I first installed it. :p:

Try a power pulse muffler from RB. They flow nicely, and aren't too loud.

Do yourself a favor and just get the powerpulse muffler. Just about everything else will crap out on you in a short time and you will just end up replacing it anyways. Also, you will care if it's loud, These cars can do real hearing damage with a sub par exhaust.
