<----------Post number 1000. Yeah I'm a whore. Someone needs more interest in these lights

FirebirdSlayer666 10-03-06 01:50 PM

Bump

gsterror 10-03-06 02:01 PM

If you could eliminate the reflector, I'd be interested.

kgray 10-03-06 02:59 PM

no reflector = illegal...

gsterror 10-03-06 03:07 PM

You're talking about a community that completely stripps our emissions equipment.

Illegal=So?

kgray 10-03-06 03:11 PM

well yeah, but they aren't required in MO. cops will pull you over for that here

gsterror 10-03-06 03:15 PM

If they do, I'll take my spare set of original lenses to court and SHOW them they reflect ;)

kgray 10-03-06 03:23 PM

lol there you go

I will in the future try and have covers made that are flat instead of ribbed with and without reflectors and a flat center garnish to go with. Only way I can eliminate the reflector right now is with niteshades and it still functions

gsterror 10-04-06 07:41 AM

Not flat, though. Just without the reflector. There's a guy down here that replaced it with a clear, non reflective plastic. That might be a step towards accomplishing our goal.

I have a spare set of se tail lights sitting around so i guess i know what im doing.

Got some pics with the brake lights on. They shine through the Niteshades just fine

FirebirdSlayer666 10-12-06 10:47 PM

Bump for interest. Any one that was interested please PM me to let me know where you stand. Thanks

Bump

FirebirdSlayer666 10-22-06 10:34 PM

Just completed my move and have gotten settled in. If anyone else is interested in the lights let me know.

FirebirdSlayer666 11-07-06 11:56 PM

So is anyone going to follow through with these or is everyone just leaving me hanging?

trochoid 11-08-06 06:42 AM

While the lights shine through fine in the daylight, I did find out that they don't shine through the water that is thrown up by the tires in the rain on the highway. This was pointed out to me by IanS after the trip down to the Lawrence rotary meet, which had rain all the way, both ways.

dbragg 11-08-06 04:36 PM

trochoid-- are youre nightshaded? howm any coats? how bad was visibility?

yeah, im still in. sorry i forgot about it. haha.

FirebirdSlayer666 11-08-06 11:03 PM

If there is enough water on the road, normal lights wont even show up through the road spray. I've never had any problems with it but then again, I try not to drive in heavy heavy rain anyway. Anyone interested shoot me a PM

3 light coats. From what Ian said, it seems that the shading did make it harder for him to see me than if I had stock lights. Not trying to bag on the shaded lights, I like them. It is an issue that one should be aware of though as it does present a potentioal safety problem.

gsterror 11-09-06 10:40 AM

I'll still be in if you can get me a non reflector set.

FirebirdSlayer666 11-10-06 06:28 PM

i'll be working on that once I get another stock set
