Interesting fuel overflow....

Where do I start....?

I did the emissions removal on my 84 fb about a month and a half ago. When I started the car every thing ran fine until the little mounting tab for the radiator shroud on the top of the radiator decided to give out and start spraying coolant all over the place. Fast forward to yesterday...After the car sitting since the radiator shroud caused a coolant leak (1 1/2 month give or take), I went out to the car to test the universal power window kit I just installed, and now whenever I turn the ignition on, the carb decides to overflow fuel all over the place.

After searching the forum. I have come up with the following: I think the vent solenoid is fine, as it clicks on when the ignition is turned to on, and off when the key is turned to off. All of the fuel that builds up in the carb drains out once the car is turned off.

...If your looking down into the carb on the passengers side of the car from the top with the airbox removed, the portions that fill up are the two lower squares with the diagonal jets (sorry I am still trying to familiarize myself with the fb and its carb), and the small roundish triangle section on the top, which overflows within seconds of the key being turned to on...

I have checked and double checked all items related to the emissions removal, and it appears that everything that I removed or capped is where its supposed to be. According to the previous owner, the carb was rebuilt a year ago, and the car ran fine (except for a stumble when trying to give it gas) before sitting after the radiator leak...

can someone provide me with guidance?

thanks

You have a stuck float needle - - got gummed up as the fuel in the bowl evaporated and dried out during the extended shutdown.

Take the carb top off and move the floats up and down to free them up.

Tomorrow, I will go out and start tapping (and probably throwing) things. I'll let you know how it turns out....

thanks for the tips!
