Yeah, I am pretty busy, but I do have 10 of my bumper hitches already fabricated and in stock. I am just waiting on the license plate bracket to be delivered from the water jet place. I am also collecting old bumper covers to modify for the hitch, so people can preserve their stock ones. Then, I will look into the wiring.

The receiver is 1 1/4 inch with is standard for small utility trailers.

200 lbs is a LOT of tounge weight! That Tire Tail is one scary product, from the handling effects of suspending tires off the rear of your car. You would be much better served by getting a little utility trailer, which will bear the vertical load, IMHO. Anyway, yes, all they are doing is using 1 1/4 inch recievers, so it's adequate for the load...whether your car will be safe to handle on the street is another matter.

I too was also hoping for a 2", but I can deal with 1 1/4...

well, my setup is probalby going to be lighter than that, cauz i'm looking at 13lb rims and 20 lb tires, so maybe 130... total? but i hear ya, i just don't feel like doing a tire and all, then i'll have to register and stuff...

For those of you who are worrying about the hole in the bumper cover, there are reciever inserts the have a brake light built in. that should cover up the hole in the cover and give a little extra illumination when the brake lights are on. Hell, you can get creative and stick on a rotor shaped vinyl cover over the brake light lense.

Yeah, I've looking into a nice machined rotor insert, either with or without a brakelight...

Well, I had ten of the bumper hitches fabricated but there didn't seem enough interest to really put it on the front burner. I am actually re-visiting the project right now...I just had a bumper cover painted to match my car, so I can slap one on and see what else needs to be done. I believe I will need to modify a couple small things on the fabricated pieces but nothing major. I also wanted to come up with a wiring harness, to make it simple.

How soon do you need one? Anyone else waiting?

Well, I'm building a track/autocross car now and hope to take it to Roebling Road Raceway at the end of the summer. I'm not in a big hurry for it, but will eventually need one. I've got the tire trailer lined up, I just can't take it anywhere with me. How much work will be involved aside from removing the bumper and attaching the hitch?

Remove bumper, attach hitch, wire lights and install bumper cover. Pretty easy. At a mimimum, I will include a standard molded 4-way trailer connector with a decent length of wire, some T-taps and a wiring diagram. That should make wiring a snap. The hardest part, I suppose, will be finding a donor bumper cover (if you don't want to trim the stock one) and installing it. Presuming you have everything in hand, the whole job should not take more than about 2 hours max.
