Installing G-force components have some questions
 

Pretty simple questions. I got a bunch of sweet G-force engineering suspension parts from an ex 7 racer. Now its my turn to use them, but I have a few questions to make sure it all goes together right. I dont have much to ask now, but as I press on im sure I'll come up with more problems.

What type of grease/oil is best in the strut tube to assist in cooling? I have the welded coilover setup. Running koni 2 way adjustables. These are not re-speed or Ground control coilovers, but custom made according to Jim Suskos' bible/manual.

How can i fit my tiny 13s on the coils? My 82 is a gs. I believe i have read that the spindle on the GS is smaller than that on the GSL and GSL-SE. Not sure of the spindle size on the coil, but it must be whatever came on a GSL. Currently the brake rotor and caliper mounted are 4x114.3, but i would like to keep my 110 bolt pattern (for now) because the tires i have are new.

The spindle size is year dependent, not model. 84/85 all have the large spindle whether it was a GS or GSL-SE etc. If your set has 4x114.3 then it's a GSL-SE setup, which means it is an 84/85 large spindle part. In order to keep running your 4x110 wheels you would need to get 84/85 S/GS/GSL rotors and bearings. You could re-use your 82's caliper and bracket if it's in good shape, all 81-85 non SE front calipers are the same.

As for oil in the strut housings, really anything is ok, it's just to help transfer heat away from the strut itself. Last time I put a set together I had a bunch of MMO sitting around so I used that. I've used ATF before as well.

Thanks for the fast reply! Do you know what or where i can find the sizes for the spindles to reference?
I will try to source new front rotor and bearings. Small spindle rotors cannot be converted over to big spindle with use of bearings?

I do have a spare set of rotors in 110 bolt pattern but i can not ID them for year or spindle size, bearings are missing. Would be great to get bearings for these to fit big spindle

I have everything for two complete front suspensions. Plus a bunch of extra calipers and extra set of rotors for all corners.

Rock auto should have the bearing dimension next to at lrast some the beaeings. I recently got dimensions ther for spindle spacers.

Like Carl said, Rockauto should have dimensions listed on some of the bearings for you to look at. As for rotors, I'm not aware of being able to use the smaller bearing on on a large bearing spindle or visa versa by using other bearings. It might be possible, but it's easier to just buy the correct rotor in my opinion. Rockauto is your friend!
