Information on Rarity of Options?

My RX has a beautiful beige leather interior, but I can't say I've seen this colour in all but one pictures on the internet. I was wondering how rare the white with beige interior, AC and perhaps even the 3-speed are? Thanks in advance. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0a7afcfbd.jpeg

Not rare. That auto trans can be swapped out in this version really easy. The auto was a dog and does not give the full rotary experience.

Although not as common as black or later wine, beige was used even in some SA cars. Back in the day, the 3-sp automatic was a top-o-the-line option for RX-7's. Although it does rob you of some of the sports car fun and feel, people actually had to pay more for it. I think normally, most of them went to wife's and women who wanted the look and image of a sports car more than all that shifting that went with it.

As KC says, it can be swapped out w/a 5-speed relatively easy. I've found that in a lot of cases, the engines in automatic cars have survived better than their manual counterparts. They shift so darn low in the RPM range that the engines have never been stressed or abused like the boys did with their manual clutched toys.

I think they survive because no one drives them. They are always low miles. In general for rotaries, people say a redline a day keeps the carbon build up away. That's not going to happen with an auto.

I might be interested in your automatic trans/flexplate/counter weight/shifter surround/etc. My son totaled my 2005 Silverado and I need to get him new transportation. He's young and can't handle a manual trans yet. I have a car, just need to convert to automatic.
