Impul R1 Mesh Wheels -> GSL-SE?

1 Attachment(s)
I'm presently running an old set of 13x5.5 Ronal meshies on my SA. As the SA is being retrofit with GSL-SE suspension, new wheels are in order. I've found a set of Impul R1 wheels locally. They are 15x6.5, 4x114.3 bolt pattern, +28 offset. Does anyone have pics of these wheels on a 1st gen? That'd really help in deciding whether to make the trip to check them out in person. The look is very similar to BBS, but not as deep as I'd like.

I found some pics of Stilletoman's car with 2nd gen vert wheels. These look quite similar aside from the bolted hub.

Im not sure but I think you will have fitment issues with anything more than +20 might be able to make it fit if you flare your fenders.

6.5 should be ok with that offset.

yeah mine are 15x9 with +7 offset and with 205/50R15 rubbers and I rub :( so I know for a fact you're probably gonna rub

From reading the threads here, offset number and wheel sizes seem all over the place. I've refreshed my memory on the terminology, and have found the following numbers:

Stock GSL-SE:
14x5.5 wheel, +45mm offset (this is from FSM - other sources say 40mm)
Wheel width in mm = 5.5" * 25.4mm/inch = 139.7mm

(Rim width)/2 - Offset = Distance from wheel hub mount face to outer lip of wheel = X.

Using stock GSL-SE number: X = 139.7/2 - 45 = 24.9mm

Using my proposed wheels, X = 165.1/2 - 28 = 54.6mm, approx 30mm further outboard than stock.

Using R-cien's wheels: X = 228.6/2 - 7 = 107.3mm, approx 82mm further outboard than stock.

Another local GSL-SE owner I talked to a while back was running 15x7's at +15 offset, and rolled the fenders quite a bit to clear. He was about 74mm further outboard than stock. This is obviously affected by tire size also, but looking at wheel position is a good start.

R-cien, have you rolled the fender lips up at all? Do you have any pics of the wheels on the car? At that offset, do they not appear to stick out of the wells a bit?

Jim Rothe did a fine job of documenting his Panasport install here:
http://www.jimrothe.com/mazda/wheels/index.html

He indicated minor rubbing problems running 15x7's at +33 offset, which is 55.9mm, or 31mm further outboard than stock. That's likely compounded by the 205/55 series tire and 1" lower than stock ride height.
