idler pully in place of air pump
I've heard rumours about how removing the airpump leads to not enough tension over the water pump belt so it slips at high rpm, has anybody tried putting an idler pully in its place?

Why bother fabricating an idler pulley when you can simply swap the alternator pulley for a twin pulley?

Yeah, but i still havent found where to get one of those pullys, and I kinda need one :(. Please dont just link that thread again, it makes no sense. I need someone to just tell me where I can get one in Washington. Or what car has the right alternator pully on it already so I can just got get one from the junk yard...

I need one too !
A specific make and model of car fitted with the dual alt pulley would be really helpfull ... I've just priced one up for my car and they want £45 for it ! I think thats about $70 but it does include two new fan belts

How many times I gotta say this... Theres some pulleys available for Mitsu's that are dual pulleys and they are $5!!!!They fit the stock mazda part perfectly, stopped getting ripped off for $60-70 for a RB one :)
Search the 2nd gen forum for Mitsu pulley! @rotormotordriver One guy on the 2nd gen forum, put up the exact part number of the part and told where to get it. I think he even included a phone number! Doesnt get much simpler than that... I hate seeing people getting ripped off :) |
awesome. :)
