Idle rpms dropping when going into gear

Hey everyone,
So I'm having an issue that when I'm sitting at idle, and put the car into gear (manual trans)(85 GSL-SE), the car idle drops and wants to die while I'm holding the clutch in. Not sure what this would be caused by. Vacuum leak? Already bled the clutch so I know that it's fully disengaged.

there's really no reason idle should drop when putting into gear, unless pilot bearing is going bad. in this case, it would be impossible to get into reverse.

I agree with the above. Typically the idle will be the same in neutral as it will be in gear with the clutch pedal depressed as this is also neutral. Are you able to post a video or provide more details? This one is puzzling!

Are you pressing the brake while pressing the clutch?

Let me get some video together and I'll post it soonish. Currently i don't drive the car much since it's winter. Too much salt. I do hold the brake while I'm pushing in the clutch. But wouldn't the car start idling funny even if I wasn't in gear if it's related to the brakes? Btw, pilot bearing is probably bad. But doesn't make too much noise. I feel like it'd have to cause a ton of noise if the pilot bearing was bad enough to effect the idle. But I know that it does need to be replaced.

Also, its just as easy to get into reverse as any other gear.

The reason I bring up the brakes is because it can effect idle when pushed in. This is because of the vacuum draw. A good test is in neutral, e-brake on and no brake pedal.

While working on the car yesterday I found what I would think would be a MASSIVE vac leak. Looks like the big line coming off the exhaust going to my intake was up against the exhaust and burned a real big hole in the line. Not exactly sure what is for but it comes from the same small vac line that opens my 6 port actuators.

I think that is a good start....change that hose and go from there....
