Identifying Parts...
 

Ok guys, Im about to go look at a Racing Beat intake kit (with the air cleaner, Holley Carb, and RB intake), and a RB header. My question is, does anyone know if its possible to know if it was made for a ported engine or not? The guy that's selling it doesnt know cause it was his sons from his car (who unfortunatly passed away :(), and he just wants to get rid of it. It will fit my car, but I dont know if it was for a ported engine or not.

Shouldn't matter much if its for a ported motor or not.
Just Re-Jet if its too rich.

You should be able to adjust or replace anything that is too large for a non-ported motor if you get the ported one. Call RB and see what the major differences are. You will probably need to rejet the carb for your motor anyway.

Ok, makes sense, thanks. Well, all of it except the rejetting for my engine anyway...what do you mean? This is the first carb I've had to put on a car...Ive worked with dirtbike carbs, but I personally have never rejetted them or anything, i just send them tothe shop, they rejet and I install. Its not that im afraid to do it, and i know what a jet is, and where they are (on a dirtbike carb anyway). I just dont know how to calculate which ones im gonna need for where im riding (altitude and what-not). Anyway, I figured that if the carb was made for my car that I wouldnt hav to re-jet anything, plug and play :). Guess not :(...oh well. Someone know where I can read up on carb jetting and how to figure out which ones i need?

Thanks yaya, good info. Also, does anyone know where I can get a decent (preferably cheap) pump and regulator? RB says Im gonna need about 6 PSI. Also, are the pumps on our cars in-tank? So when I buy one im gonna have to drop the tank and put the new one in right?

The pump is under the car in a tray of sorts. Under the drivers side storage bin.
