I may have a cracked block Help?!
 

I have a 79 Triumph Tr7 with an 82 RX7 Drive train, it is a 12a motor. To explain the series of events leading up to this would take way to long, but about 2 years ago I accidentally left water in the block and radiator. When I realized it I went out to drain it and there was no water in the radiator. So I tried to fill it to see what happened, and it came pouring out of the bellhousing. I assumed the freeze plug behind the flywheel blew out and I left the car alone. Recently I had to get the car out of where it is and to my new house. I put a new starter in it and then I started checking the car out. I had water in my oil. So I drained the oil, then poured a gallon of diesel into the block and let it sit over night, drained that, then poured 2 quarts of oil through the block to get any remaining diesel out of the engine. Then did a full oil change. Of course there was still some water in the oil, and I haven't changed the freeze plug yet. But I just needed to be able to load the car on a dolly and drive it into my new driveway. Well when I moved the car in the drive way oil came out of the bellhousing, and then when I shut it off I heard gurgling and it seemed like about half to 3/4 of a quart came out. Is there any reason for oil to come out of the back of the block other than a crack? The engine seems to have good compression. And runs very well.

The tension bolts can also weep oil if they are loose.

I think the only way to truly know the answer is to pull the engine/trans and determine where the source is.

So you don't think it's a safe assumption to say it's probably cracked because it's leaking every fluid possible out of the back of the engine? I'm wondering if I should be looking for another engine instead of wasting time taking this one out to look at it.

You have to take it out anyway, so yank it an see what you see. Then you can decide to rebuild or replace etc.

you might be able to pull the inspection cover and see something...

actually cracking the block is pretty rare, although i've seen it

If water got in the oil then something is very wrong. Engine needs to be torn down.

I had a t2 engine I got from a junkyard that appeared to have blown coolant seals but looked ok spinning by hand.

Turns out wayer had froze in it the Middle and rear iron had blown out the side toward the rotor in a 2"wide area where it froze.
