I just bought a Nikki Carb rebuild kit...

I wanted to know if there are any tips dos or donts on what to do. or how to do it.

I rebuilt the carb right after I got my car last year. Follow the instructions. Use a digital camera and take LOTS of pictures. Works great if you have a laptop to view them in the garage. The only thing that gave me trouble was the screw in the middle of the carb that holds the air filter on also holds the carb together- remove it first :)

how much did that kit cost and where did you get it?

Make sure that you pay attention to the location of the jet and the number on the jet.

Also make sure you clean any white/oxidized areas really well. The Accelerator jets (looking down between, Primaries) there is alittle ball don't loose the ball....

I got mine from autozone. It was a top quality kit. It came with extra gaskets too. Can't beat it for $25.00 ish

Got mine from Auto Zone also. GP brand. Price was good also.
Advanced wanted 41.88 for theirs.
Plan to tackle mine this weekend also.
Good luck with yours.

Follow the FSM. Use the gallon carb cleaner container to clean/dunk your parts. Stick your parts on a piece of cardboard so you can remember where they came from.

Carefully compare your new parts to your old parts.

Don't install the gasket between the carb and the base backwards/upside down. If you do, you won't have any secondarys. 0-60 in about 18 seconds.
