I just bought a 1st gen

SUp all,
I just wanted to share that
I just bought a 1st gen. It's
a 83 gsl, but an Automatic.
How hard is it to change it into
a manual? the body is pretty straight.
its gold with ugly brown interior.
although i am think of changing the
interior to red so i can put in my 1st gen
backseat. I don't know, if you know of
cost effective mods for it would be appreciated,
or any tips of advise. well got to run,

Gongrats mate. :bigthumb:

I'd probably start by giving it a full tuneup, ie. plugs, fluids, filters etc.

After that the first serious performance mod should be headers and full exhaust followed by intake mods, ignition and maybe porting. Shorter diff ratio helps a lot also. Just depends how much you wanna spend. :D

The change to a manual tranny should be fairly straightforward. Start your mods off with a complete tune up.

Get the best tranny/rear end fluid you can afford. Redline and mobil1 come highly reccomended.

Buy a Racing Beat exhaust, although some like mindtrain, they are more expensive.

Get the best tires you can, Get a good set of hi-performance pads.

If you can get away with removing your emissions, do it.

Take as many driving courses as you have time and money for. This is the most important performance upgrade in every car.
