bad 83 10-04-06 04:48 PM

Holy crap! Even if it's a '73, that's still a piece of vintige history!! Shoot, that would be a good setup for a small project car or something.

cds00bsmg 10-04-06 05:09 PM

he must have said that son of a bitch weighs 9000lbs. It would cost me like $800+ to have it shipped here to PA.....

Kentetsu 10-04-06 05:13 PM

Yeah, but the guy has no history on Ebay and how do you really know that it is new? It seems odd that it has all that stuff already installed on it, making it look more like it was pulled from a used car. I don't know...

trochoid 10-04-06 05:15 PM

766 to my door, that's nuts.

I was thinking the same thing. I always thought that crate motors were just the block without anything attached to it. That looks like it is ready to drop right in and go.

jfachner72 10-04-06 06:09 PM

I had a crate motor put in my 83 back in 1998 when mazda still had them available.

The motor came with all the bolt ons already on it.....

Long Block has all the bolt ons......

Short Block is just a block and water pump......

Jay

I never realized you got the choice from the factory.

1badFB 10-04-06 06:17 PM

Yah...Look at the rad hose attachment, and belt groove.
I dont know for how long or if they even would run an engine such as this initially at the factory, but all the signs are there that it has been run.
Either way it doesnt particularly look like its been run for very long. Id love to have an engine like this.

5 mil apex seals anyone? hahaha

mazda got sued in the 70's and basically had to replace all of the pre73 engines, that one there is a warranty replacement engine that never got used

Kentetsu 10-04-06 11:16 PM

Man, I wonder how much it would cost me to pick it up myself? :)
