Welcome to the forum.
I will try to steer you in the right direction. in the future there is a thread at the top of this section called the FAQ's. It will be very helpful to you.

First thing you need to check is the fuse in the fuse panel. The panel is located on the driverside next to the hood release cable. The fuse should be a 15 amp and be located on the right side. The lid should direct you to this.
Check this first.

Also when you are cranking is the tach moving?

Hey that's my favorite question to people whose S3s don't have fuel at the carb!

Maybe the subject should be added to the FAQ, given how many people with S3s have this problem. Not that people read the FAQ but at least they can be then refered to it...

I know, i stole it from you:)

It's been so long that i have personally dealt with the carb modles that i had to let you re-educate me. And it would be a great idea to put that in the FAQ'S. Maybe you can do a small write up then we will endorse it and have it pushed thru.

Well let's see. :tightass: :D

Ok.

Symptoms: 1. Your RX7 is a 1984 or 1985, carburated model (not actually sure how it works for the GSL-SE model) 2. Cranking the engine does not result in the car started or it starts and dies shortly after. 3. There is no fuel getting to the carb, as evidenced by empty carb bowls or no fuel coming out of the inlet hose when cranking the engine. 4. The tachometer needle is not moving at all when cranking or when the car starts (for the case when it runs for a few seconds and then dies). Tachometer is just dead. 5. There is no spark in the trailing spark plugs - this last one is not really necessary to check unless you wanna verify there is no trailing ignition ocurring.

Cause: Trailing ignitor (one of the two small black boxes attached to the distributor, the one pointing towards the alternator) is bad or disconnected.

Handling: Check connection of trailing ignitor or replace ignitor.

That's about it I guess.

Sounds good to me^

Cool. Now if Inittab or another mod could include this in the FAQ, our deed will be done.
