How wide are your rear tires?

OK, i'm trying to find out how wide of a tire with what size backspacing will fit on a 1st gen and not stick out past the fender well. I'm sure there's some kind of standard but i'm also sure some of you have gotten away with a little more. What have you got?

This question was just asked less than a week ago. Search. Hell probably even check lower down on the first gen specific page, maybe on page two.

I am running stock tire size right now, by the way.

I run 195-55/14 all the way around.

I'd like to run a 205 or 215, but I'm probably going to have to go up to a 15x7 wheel first.

Welcome to the forum, search before asking questions because stuff like this is covered almost weekly.

Yeah. Asking a question without searching first is about the quickest way to get us old *** members to get pissed pretty fast. We get sick of answering the same question 10 times per month.

So long as you try searching first, you will fit in well.

And welcome to the club.

This same question is asked often enough but it's not in the FAQ's. How do we go about putting it in the FAQ's?

225 will fit under the rear wheel wells. Not sure if 235 or anything wider would fit without rolling or flares.

(In the front you need to make some modifications to make 225 tires fit, but its been done.)

Stock wheels are not wide enough for tires > 205.

I was running a 205/70r13 on my stock GSL wheels all the way around and they fit the rims fine. Now i'm running a 215/50R15 rear and would like to go up to a 225 or 235 for next race season.

Gee, it's nice to know everyone on this forum is so friendly. If i wanted to look up the archives I would have; instead, I thought that a little human interaction on a 'FORUM' would be nice. Guess i was wrong. I just bought my rx7, I didn't know so many rx7 owners are ********. Either that or the ones on this forum are. Maybe i'm not looking at the bigger picture cause most ricers are ******** too. So, to those of you who are the ********, next time don't read the damn forum *********. And to those that were actually helpful, thanx I appreciate the response.

I don't think you get the point there, ragtop. I, along with several other people, have already answered this very same question at least ten times this month. Why do we want to continually repeat ourselves? Do you like to repeat yourself? Do you want to spend your time telling the same answer over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again to different people because they are too lazy to hit a search button and type in "widest tire size".

Trust me, it isn't because we are ********, we are just human and after so much we become annoyed. We just happen to be lightyears beyond annoyed with people who ask the same questions that have already been answered so many times.

And also, human interaction doesn't take place over the internet. Reading takes place over the internet. It is something a human wrote, yes, but interaction takes place in a more physical type of form.

Please, nobody sit here and makes you answer the same questions over and over again. You do it cause you're either bored or just have that boring of a life. If you don't like the topic, stay out and don't answer. You make it sound like someone has a gun to your head. You shouldn't have to "try" to not be a dick, it should be the other way around.

Perhaps my days away from work are boring, true; however, what is your excuse for being lazy?

No one does have a gun to my head telling me to be a dick, but at the same time your inability to do a simple search shows me that you deserve to be handed a lecture for being too lazy. Its a forum to help people out with their problems, not a forum to repeat answers. If the answers are already here, then search for them.

In my two years on this forum I have maybe started a grand total of five threads, and do you know why? I would rather research the information that has already been handed out to other people than to go about asking the same question again. If something comes up that hasn't been covered, or can't be found through my searching, I will start a thread about it. Until then, search, lazy ***.

You've been a member for what? Six or seven days now, and you're already trying to start problems with those of us that have been on here for years.

Ohhhh all hail 'Normality Bitch' he's been here for 2 years. That's amazing, you deserve a cracker or something. On top of that you've only started five threads in inthat time. Once again, does anyone have a box of crackers. That's right buddy, you deserve the whole box. You're right about me being lazy. Being here at work and hopping on and off the computer reallymakes me a lazyass. So, what do you do for a living. . . OHHHH wait, you out of work. This just keeps getting better, a welfare bitch is calling me lazy. I hope everyone on this forum isn't represented by you.

This is ridiculous. Yep. I'm on welfare and don't work at all, which is how I own two rx7's, I'm buying a BMW, and a house. Good call.

You want to know how big of tires you can fit on the back - 9 inches in the back. There is your answer. Now you can stop being a jackass.

WOw, two rx7s, wahooooo, you're in the money. You got anymore of that money to pass around richie rich. I just bought this piece of junk for $500. Since it's a project I opted not to buy a cherry one for $1000. But wait, just think about it for a sec. If i could buy two of those cherry ones for $1000 each, , ,dude, i'd totally be rolling in like you are. Dude i gotta be honest with you, you totally made my day better. When you replied I thought of that picture with the saying, "winning an arguement on the internet is like coming in first at the special olympics. Even if you win you're still retarded" Well, I was feeling a bit retarded today so i thought 'you only life once so why not' So, thanx for being my retarded buddy but i'm going home now. My work day is over. WORK = that thing you do to make a living and pay for ****. sorry man, I didn't mean to slip in that last comment, they just keep coming out. Well look, you have a good day and don't let none of the crap i said today get to you. here here to you and me, , , internet retards!!

Man you are something else.

And your ideal price for a "cherry" one still isn't as much as what I paid for the one in lesser shape of the two I own, and is less than half the amount I paid for my almost "cherry" one.

Oh well. Its internet. Its all fun and games. I just think its a bit ridiculous you getting offended because we tell you to search.

ragtopnova, you have the choice of being civil and remaining on the forum, or continue as you are and being banned. Think carefully before you post again.
