How to unflood 85 fuel injected GSL-SE
 

I wrote on this before but could not find my original thread. The answers were remove labeled EGI/ECI fuse in box under hood. I looked for 10 minutes and I could not find any fuse box or anything labeled EGI. Are you talking about connections above the spark plugs? I see about 5 or 6 connections but nothing labeled. Help.

i unplug the fuel pump. its a little bit of an adventure, as its under the bin, but with the pump unplugged the spark still works.

There's a fuse in the main fuse block in the driver's footwell marked "EGI" or "Engine", and will shut down the fuel flow. Basically what you're doing is shutting down the EFI system from receiving a trigger signal from the ignition (leading coil) so the injectors won't fire. This prevents any fresh fuel from being sprayed and helps to keep the engine from flooding.

In fact, once you find that connection - there are 2 x 10mm bolts that hold the fuse block in place and you can trace that wire out and put a switch in the line to allow you to kill the ignition trigger for EFI at will. This is handy both as a 'kill-cut-out' switch to keep people from getting away with your car (because it won't start) and also for killing fuel flow to the engine when spinning it over to un-flood. Definitely worthwhile install on an -SE if you ask me,

I'm not knowledgeable at this so exactly where is the driver's footwell? Under the dash? Or under the hood? And when I find the fuse marked EGI do I just pull it?
It sounds like to me I don't even have to remove the plugs from what you are saying since it gets rid of the gas by the engine spinning it out to go somewhere I don't know. Somebody said in the new technical forum on about 31 May that the fuse box is under the hood by I can't find it unless it's way under the bottom of the car. I will also have to jump the battery since it's dead from sitting. Won't eventually the gas evaporate if the car sits with the plugs out? Thank you!

I had forgotten that I posted it to the new tech forum there. And I found the post by putting cursor or clicking on my userid at the very very top and a menu appears with "my posts" as one option. My profile didn't show the posts. I've had trouble staying logged in to it keeps kicking me out and other problems but I'm at the library now and so far no problems.
