How much would you pay for...

a MINT '80 rx7 with 59k on it and it's an "X aniversary" edition.

I'm going to see it in person tomorrow, just wondering what you guys
would pay for it. The X aniversary doesnt impress me much, but the
miles and condition do. Thanks :).

Matt

Its totally dependent on condtition for me. If I was looking for a mint car it'd be worth 3k to me.

ArmySoldier 04-14-05 08:01 PM

yep... totally on the condition. So... I probably would pay too much.

1980 Tenth Aniversary?

84-7GSL 04-14-05 09:26 PM

The 1980 10th Anniversary RX-7 was the tenth anni. of the rotary in the states.

therotaryrocket 04-14-05 09:27 PM

I think it also depends on the location, I saw a 1983 RX-7 GS in not the best condition with like 110K miles sell for $2700 dollars but that was in socal.

BLKTOPTRVL 04-14-05 10:04 PM

Was there something special about the car, or just badges?

Here's some info on the X aniversary:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ht=Anniversary

Here's a link to a lot of pics of the car (Go here: http://www.timalauto.net/ then click on "Inventory" then click on the only FB you'll see). He wont take less than 3800. I'm going to see it today, but the pictures tell a pretty nice story. I'm not convinced that I want to spend 3800 on it though, but maybe seeing it in person and driving it will change my mind.

Thanks for the replies :).

$3800 seems fair.

It looks great. It already has the black interior, with a great dash. Every thing looks real good.

But I would not buy it, Garage queen and take to car shows is all it would be good for.

Im a well-known low baller. I always wait for his asking price, then work him down. :bigthumb:

You don't think this could be a fairly reliable car?

I bet it would be very reliable, But driving it kills the Value, Unless you can keep it Mint.

I drive my cars hard and love doing donuts, No way I would spend $3800 to do donuts in it. Maybe a sunday driver and cruse car.

jays83gsl 04-15-05 03:22 PM

Agreed: I would never drive a car like that daily. With my accident history, It'd be trouble waiting to happen!

Maniacmikey 04-15-05 03:31 PM

you got to get rid of the steering wheel cover.

moehler 04-15-05 11:55 PM

I went to see it today, and it does not look that nice in person (although the engine was solid). Combined with shot tires and brakes, the car was not worth more that $2000 - $2500. Needless to say I didn't pay $3800 for it.

Zeta-Gouki 04-16-05 02:34 AM

That would be the RX-7, we had the other RX models and the REPU before that...

Chicken Man 11-10-05 01:38 AM

If the Tenth Anniversary you are talking about was for sale at Timal Automotive near Lancaster, it sold for $4000 to me and I love it.
