how to free up some space..

3 Questions:

1. i wanna know wat i can pull out of the engine bay of my 82 to free up some space in there. it is still all stocko, so anything is possible.

2. also does anyone know how to bleed the aircon so i can pull it out....dont reallly wanna crack open a hose full of high pressure gas.

3.finally just to check, if i pull out the aircon i wont be able to use the front demister will i, correct or not?

thanks aaron.

if u have cruise control u could take it out, or tha hot idle start assist motor, for the s/c all i did was just cut the line and stood back in case there was still stuff in there but there wasnt, but in ur case i wouldnt do it because that stuff could kill u.i took out the a/c and my bay looks pretty good, im aiming for removing the rats nest, then it will look really good:)

On the AC I just crack the line and let it leak down. dont breath any of it.

what is a "front demister"?

Venting refrigerant is illegal and you could be fined upto $100,000 if you're caught... I wouldnt be suggesting it in forums, but it is doable... just make sure you're alone and no-one can see you. ;)

It makes a mess and throws oil everywhere,

Just crack a line on the compressor until you hear a little escaping and put a rag around it, Back off and give it an hour to leak down.

You can also take it to a shop and have them vacume it.
