How to drain gas tank

ancient wizard...
Looks to be the fuel pump is the culprit here. Since you discarded the original, you'll need the complete assembly from Mazda. You posted the pic of correct one previously in your thread from Atkins. Contact Jim Ellis Mazda, about 40 dollars cheaper, likely have to order one. One I ordered couple years ago took 45 days to get here from Japan,I was in no hurry so wasn't a problem. If you are go Atkins. STRONGLY suggest you at least drain tank of all old fuel. Add couple gallons of fresh and disconnect return line at firewall and add section(3') 5/16" hose and run into empty gas can and run pump at test connector to purge all old gas from lines, fuel rail til you've run at least a gallon of fresh fuel thru car into can. You can use the pump in car now to do this- preferred. Replace pump with oe Mazda, replace fuel filter. Does not need to be Mazda, but good quality. May want to replace fuel feed line to pump and pressure hoses from pump to filter and filter to frame mounted line that runs to front of car. Inlet hose for fuel pump has been discontinued,Porsche FI line (12mm)can be substituted here. Buy 4' of 5/16" FI pressure hose and enough clamps to replace all fuel line at back and front of car in engine compartment. Have pics of under my SE when did this couple years ago. Need to do some modifications to pump inlet hose as original was a formed hose, replacement is not and will kink in the sharp bend it must make in the area it runs. Some creativity needed here, can post pics of what I did so you can see what needs to be done.

Who is Jim Ellis?
I misunderstood. I get it. Drain tank first then run fresh gas through system.

Fuel Injectors Leaking?
Connected fuel pressure test kit with T-valve inline with incoming fuel line/hose to engine.
TEST #3:
KEY ON and ran pump: Baseline pressure = 40 psi
Pinched closed "incoming fuel line/hose" before T-valve hose = maintained pressure 40 psi
Turned KEY OFF and stopped pump = pressure dropped to ZERO
End of Tests.
Many thanks to GSLSEforme for the step-by-step procedures to conduct these tests.
Thanks for reading.
