How do you determine the offset a rim has?

Hi, I have some Konig 16x7 Rims and I'm not sure what the offset is. Is there a surefire way I can tell exactly what the offset is so I may buy the correct tire to prevent any rubbing.

Thank you

well if you know that it is for a FWD then you can bet 40mm +/- 2 mm. Measure from the hub, where you bolt the wheel up to the inner side of the wheel. It is something like that, pretty easy to tell the difference if you have another wheel you know the offset of, just compare them.

on our cars, 38mm offset fits - though my Enkeis fit with very, very little clearance, they did fit :)
