Slave is mounted on the top of the tranny. I use a 1/4" drive and long extensions to bring the ratchet above the hood line to remove the 2 bolts. Be carful when reinstalling the bolts in the tranny. The case is aluminum and the threads can easily strip, then you pull the tranny to drill and retap to the next larger size.
You will need an 8 mm box wrench to open the bleeder valve along with a 10 and 17 mm line wrench to break the hose and lines loose. P B Blaster is your best friend for doing this. The master is not hard to find, it bolts to the firewall, then follow the line to the slave on the tranny. The master is unbolted from the inside, 2 10 mm nuts. I hope you're young and limber. 1/4" drive works easier than a 3/8" under the dash. |
yes im young....very..very young...lol.....thanks trochoid

That's ok, I'm older. I won't hold it against you if you don't. lol

A MUST for the older guys like trochoid and for the beastie boys:
Remove the driver seat Drink at least a 6pack of cold heine as a pain killer. |
lol

I'm older, too--
When I did mine a few weeks ago, I got the nuts screwed back on the master cylinder up under the dash after about an hours effort only to realize the bolts weren't threaded all the way to the to master cylinder, so they wouldn't screw up tight. I had to unscrew them, put in a spacer (short stack of washers) and then screw them on again. Definately needed the six pack when finished! Good luck! - David |
I should have mentioned that you need at least a 12-pack of heine to complete this project. lol

Yeah, I did the SE monday. Well, now all 3 7s have new clutch hydraulics (and new starters, and new radiators).
Replace that flexihose while you're at it. You need those Heinekens to relax your aching back when finished. It helps to have a whirlpool bath or spa to relax in while finishing off the Heinekens. |
