Hoses

Hoses

I was looking to buy some hoses from hosetechniques.com. My friend told me that they only make them for turbo II and third generation rx-7s. Does anyone know where I could get som sky blue hoses for my first generation 82 mazda rx-7.

Pele 03-06-02 04:15 PM

Yeah. I want hoses that match the air cleaner box...

Is this what your looking for?

You can order ANY amount of hose you want.

What your friend probably meant is that they only have pre-built kits to replace all the hoses on 2nd and 3rd gens.

We should all e-mail HoseTechniques and tell them to make us a kit...
:D

:) I just go about 2 miles down the road, and I have big river rubber and gasket. They GOT EVERYTHING, you can even take an intake manifold to them and they can make a gasket in like 10 minutes :) I love that place...

HoseTechniques uses high quality Silicone hoses. MUCH better than rubber...

Pele 03-08-02 12:04 AM

Im after what Pittdp's got in silicone.

I wanna replace ALL the vacuum lines with it, as well as anything else I can get away with replacing with it. (Heater hoses, Radiator hoses. If stuff like that isn't readily available, then forget it. but defenately the vacuum lines.)

I have only seen the radiator hoses and heater hoses in factory like rubber. You can get universal silicone vaccuum line at pep boys.

Do they make silicone heater hoses for the T2? If so they should fit right on a SE or a 79-82(no oil/water cooler).

I just saw on the http://www.hosetechniques.com/ webpage that they have silicone heater hoses. I'm not sure if it's TII specific though. Probably not.

I got mine through www.mazdatrix.com

Just buy the hose by length. Those kits are expensive, and they give you dumb shit like a hood prop rod cover :wtf:

Ijust went to http://www.hosetechniques.com and there site sucks, non of the links work

Never had a problem with the site...

Good hose tho, from what I hear...

I don't suppose anyone knows offhand how much, and what size, hoses I need to replace all my 18 year old factory rubber on my '85 -SE?

I know I have a vac leak somewhere 'cause I have an intermittent idle fluctuation. I figure instead of bothering to track down every damn leak that comes along, I may just as well replace ALL the vac hoses now and save myself the headaches later on...

yayarx7 03-09-02 05:44 PM

Looking at the kit that hosetechniques has for the T2 it seems those kits are worthless. They replace like 2 vacuum lines and the rest is coolant overflow bottle and window washer line, not to mention the ever-important prop rod cover. According to their pic there is no red underneath the intake manifold where all the important, need to be replaced, vacuum hoses are on the T2. For $100 you could just hit pep boys and use the rest of the money for a intake kit.

LOL , how true

Felix Wankel 03-09-02 08:48 PM

Actually there is only about a foot of vacuum hose under the intake of a TII. Most of them are part of a metal solenoid rack.

I still think those kits suck. See my above post. :)

I took my solenoid rack off the TII and ran new vacuum lines. I bought some nice inconspicuous black silicone hose (although my BOV is bright fuckin purple  )for about 10 bucks and did all 6 of the vacuum lines that remained :)

Thats why madzatrix's is a good place to by them from since the tubing runs like 2.00 per foot.

If I'm not mistaken, Mazdatrix sells HoseTechniques hose?

So... DOES any of you guys know how much hose my -SE will need? I'm kinda lazy and don't wanna have to figure it all out:D

85RX7GS 03-10-02 05:28 PM

I've seen them at MazdaTrix and they've also got them at a local performance shop near me. :)

82mazdarx7 03-11-02 04:11 PM

I want to get them from hosetechneques but if they are better somewhere else than I will get them there
