Hose from port air switching valve missing
Have been trying to get our 85 gsl to idle but she bucks with choke engaged and dies when it disengages.. I've searched for vac leaks with carb cleaner and even utilized the propane method with no signs of leak.. during the process i noticed this:
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...bb23fd8f0.jpeg port air switching valve w.o hose https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...95539f16cf.jpg the FSM shows that there is a hose connected to this valve.. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...411272511a.png I don't notice any obvious locations where this hose would connect... I've tried capping it incase it was the cause of a vac leak, but it did not change the issue. |
that hose and its accompanying valve were only used from vin 800001-824686, which is early in the 1984 model year only.
the early 84 cars had this extra thing to go to the first cat. i'm sure its not a big deal, capping it off is probably the way to go. |
