horrible problem
i was making a block off plate for my 12a, and a bolt fell down inside the mid-plate. its the same plate where the oil filler neck is. it where the EGR valve is. the motor is out of a 79 sa. i know im stupid for doin that. but i really need help getting it out.

Drop the oil pan.
EDIT: Thought you meant you dropped it down the oil fill tube. |
A magnet on a stick? Check Autozone.
r u sure that it will fall straight into the oil pan. cause theres no oil and when we move the engine it doesn't rattle
where does the passage lead too??? coolant or exhaust???
Tip the motor over and dump it out?
Otherwise, get a magnetic probe and see if you can draw it out.... . |
where did the bolt go whenever it droped down. is there a chance of it getting into the housings or if by chance there is no way of me getting it out is it ok to leave it in there? or is this a get it out or open the whole engine up thing?? when you blow on that hole the air comes straight out of the front housing exhaust port....
They way I understand the egr system, the small port in the rotor housing sleeve is directed into the center iron and come up to that point.

yay got it out...i flipped the engine upside down and shot compressed air into the port and it came flying out!!
