hoods and #%@&*% hail damage

My completely restored 7, http://photos.yahoo.com/mylan_jags, just went through a major hail storm. Now it looks like a stinking golf ball. The hail guys won't even touch it, needs to be completely done at a body shop. Anyways, I'm looking for an aftermarket hood. I know Manntis is building some, but I need one now. Any ideas where to get one? Fiberglass preferred.

That sucks! Do you have pics from after the storm?

DAVID GRIMES 11-15-04 04:39 PM

MariahMotorsports has the fiberglass hood with the NACA duct either functional or for looks that fits first gen. Looks great whether or not you have the widebody kit. Good, thisck fibreglass, too.

BTW, It's over $800...

Thanks, I'll check it out, hail was about the size of my fist, piled up about 6 inches deep. Have to replace my roof on my house too.

DAVID GRIMES 11-16-04 05:55 PM

How big is your fist ? Got any pics ? j/k

:rlaugh:

That sucks. Never seen hail like that. That would ruin anybody's parade.

when did this storm hit albuquerque? we haven't gotten hail down here in roswell in quite some time....but we have had a lot of rain and some snow.

kewpie79 11-17-04 09:20 AM

storm was about a month ago, guys in Soccorro, with fiberglass hoods had complete holes ripped through them. Saw one vette that looked like some sort of mortar hit it. Left a few dents in my Conquest, but nothing like the 7, this weekend I'll try to get some pics. Porsche and lincoln were inside the garage, no damage.

sccrsteve5 11-17-04 03:00 PM

thats insane...is insurance gonna cover any of your stuff?

Bob Holton 11-17-04 04:31 PM

Hail dents can be popped out, Heat to red and hit with a wet sponge ,they go Ping and are gone, messes up the paint tho,.

DAVID GRIMES 11-17-04 05:27 PM

or just get those "bullet hole" stickers and put one on each hail dent and drive it like you stole it... :rlaugh:
