Home-made PP 12A how-to?l

I might want to get a PP 12A, but I would like to try it myself. How is it done? I tryed searching the net, but no answers.

A BP seems pretty simpel. Just grind some stuff out.

With a PP you drill through the waterjacket right? How should you seal it? How should you make a PP? Step for Step plz. Can some1 give me a website or a how-to with photo's?

I really don't think a perpheral-port is something you can do at home without the correct milling and machineing equipment. And of course experience.

You think a BP isnt that bad huh? :) PP is worse, its a pain in the ass by looking at what is done to get it to work ...

I tried a simple street port and didnt know shit about what I was doing. Grinded the intake just a slight bit towards the E shaft and opened up the rest oif it, and it took ATF to get it to start and it wouldnt idle below 2000. Had some good power up around redline, but it was a total fiasco :)

Good luck hope you have better expertise than I did, and a lot of housings to practice on, I got a good doorstop as to the results of my extravaganza :)

I built my own but it is kinda hard. There arent realy any specialt milling machines you have to have just a drill press and thats about it, but i dont think somone thats not realy good at fabbing and know rotarys realy well should try and do it. i can make a set of housings in a bout a week and it not too bad. That is just in the afternoons. The hardest part is figuring out your angles location and size. Also then you have to figure out what kind of exhaust shape and size countours etc. Kinda tricky stuff... But any ways i think you should just buy a set from someone like rob at pineaple or something like that cus by the time you screw up a few sets of housings you will be much cheaper by buying them in the first place.

Also i dont mean to be rude or anything but as far as figuring out the angles/location etc. most everyone doesnt raely like to talk much about them cus its kinda the trade secret stuff almost. I mean you can go and buy a set but most every one you makes there own do different things with angles and stuff to "customize" the engine to the desired use. Mazda pp housings come in one set up, but thats kinda dumb i think i mean they are kind of a all purpose i guess but then there is downing who use to sell sealed motors in like 75 different configuration to suite the use. Which do you think would be fast a multi purpose mazda housing or say a custom. the answer is simple the custom housing for like drag racing will do a little better etc.

Very true! Its an exacting matematical manipulation of where you put the stuff, what shape, what length. Tons of varaibles that are WAY over my head...

Better off having someone do them... Dont know about you, but I did not consider it fun when I got the motor back together , in the car, everything hooked up and found out I had to crack it back open :( IT SUCKS

Yea I thought about it and realised the angle and width ect matter a lot. I guess I'll just buy 1 since I can't even draw good, let alone grind a housing in the right way.

Think I'll go for a 12A BP b4 going for that 3-rotor BP/PP.

Think I'll buy it from Herley's since it's in Europe.
