I saw that one too

I saw it and thought about some of you guys but the price is more than many of you are willing to pay. If someone is serious, I can bid on it locally and then ship it, but rules are cash up front only.

And cash up front with three days left is probably not going to happen... But paypal, is nice :) I would bid on it too. But cant get rid of the one i have lol

I wish i knew where he got that last pic from would love to have more info on my setup.

Considering the items in the auction that is a great price though.

Man is this right?

200,000.00 JPY = 1,825.51 USD
Japan Yen United States Dollars

Yeowza... Very nice setup though far from my pricerange

FB II 08-15-05 07:47 AM

yyyyyeaa, that's a bit much. but honestly.. if i could afford it i would get it for it's rareness (sp?). i love seanrots setup, maybe that's why i want it so bad :p:

seanrot 08-15-05 08:25 AM

BIT MUCH? For most people on the forum, i grant you we are cheap bastards. 1800.00 dollars is outa our price ranges since majority of us that brag our cars were bought and paid for at like $700.00 if not free. Most of us that start theses projects piece them together and dont realize that we dropped 2000.00 over time without even thinking about it. Instead of putting the money down all at once.

Hell the carb itself is 499.99 and it probably has the polyeurethane float in it.

Turbo, EXTERNAL wastegate, fuelpump and regulator, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, the carb hat, and the downpipe and hoses, and all the items are Sigma/Blitz/KKK.

FBII- you mean to tell me outa all the turbo setups you have tried so far that starting with this set up at 1800.00 wouldnt have saved you a shitload of headaches and saved you money in the long run.

rotarycrazy 08-15-05 08:31 AM

Price wise its not that bad since it is a comlete kit. Just look how much you will spend trying to get all the parts necesary to get it working and howe many hours on the interenet trying to find that last peace that you need.

I bought mine for $1500 2.5 years ago and so far with the car I have about $11.000 in it since the motor was like $6000 ( yes I got F over on that one).

toxic_d 08-15-05 03:02 PM

Yeah I have to agree now that you mention it... that would save one shitload of work in the longrun. The thing is I cannot seem to bring myself to part with my 12Aeven though I have my SE that I am in the process of building up. I guess its just the piece of mind that I have a spare engine as backup. If I only had the 12A I would seriously consider that as a reasonable power making upgrade.

man that is awesome and I'm sure it is priced accordingly. You do get what you pay for no matter what you buy. I intended for my 13bt swap to be only 2k for my vert, but after the engine/tranny$1150/rearend/shafts/harness/ecu/pressure sensor/afm/fuel pump/bov/injectors it has came to over $3100 but man is it worth the boost.

lovintha7 08-15-05 03:57 PM

I just paid $900 for a s5 TII engine, tranny, harness, turbo and TMIC. I don't suspect I'll need much more than another $500 to get it running.

lol so true :D but had i gotten it right the first time it would have only costed me 800 bones hahaha, honestly tho.. this really is worth it the more i think about it. cause it's not some later model rx7 parts thrown together all junkyarded up. this is the good shit right off the bat. someone get this!!!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOO!

this jap turbo kit will yield more power off the bat... unless you add another 1500 or so to that s5. which i still believe the 12a will win ;)

mortenf 08-15-05 04:38 PM

And dont forget the rarity of this kit. Remember, this is a original HKS kit, extremly rare, and well worth its asking price if you ask me!! This is as old school JDM as you can get...

mortenf 08-15-05 04:42 PM

Sorry for the double post, but i can also see the tuning potential in this kit.. Just a different manifold, a bigger turbo, TWM throttle bodies instead of the carb, Haltech... Ahhh i almost wish i lived in Japan..

Blitz not hks

You sure? Because i have allways been told that the HKS name stands for the names of the two funders, H and K, and S for Sigma, the original name.. But if im wrong, no worries! Its still a rare and beautiful kit!

EDIT: It turns out i was right.. partially at least? This statement is from www.hksusa.com:

Q: What does HKS stand for?

A: HKS stands for:

H-Hasegawa, as in Hiroyuki Hasegawa.

K-Kitagawa, as in Goichi Kitagawa.

S- Sigma, as in Sigma Automotive Company, Ltd.

Hasegawa and Kitagawa formed the company with the assistance of capital infusion from Sigma Automotive, hence the name HKS...

seanrot 08-15-05 07:36 PM

I wouldnt go collecting your cash prise and self grory all at once. Yes they recieved capital(cash what not) to start there company HKS. Nice of them to put there sponcers initial in their company name like that. But HKS has never been much on using the German made turbo's KKK. Blitz is almost exclusive on the use of KKK. What I was informed by KSP tuning near Yokota AB, Japan when I was trying to get parts for the setup. Is that in the late 70's early 80's Sigma changed there name to Blitz. That is where they ordered my parts, directly from the manufacturer, Blitz.

There seem to be two turbo set ups of the era for the 1st gen 7. one states Sigma with a carb hat thats a little bigger than the top of the weber ida. The other states HKS and its twice as big as the Sigma hat. I have had both in my possesion at one time.

730RWHP12A 08-15-05 07:45 PM

thats a nice setup.......
eat some cheese!!!!!

mortenf 08-16-05 02:55 AM

But i was partially right? Damn, no prize money for me..

greenjack 08-16-05 05:55 PM

That is a really nice wastegate.

I'll tell you exactly what you need, rear end, half-shafts, driveshaft, afm, pressure sensor, booster line with check valve (not needed to run but to brake under boost if needed), ecu, boost gauge. Thats if you have an n/a and you want full TII drivetrain. I paid $350 shipped for my TII rear end with FD torsen lsd and new pinon seal (shipping was $80).

Man I want this kit but I have been thinking 13BT swap for so long that I am confused. How old is this kit I wonder?

seanrot 08-16-05 09:19 PM

it has about 12,000 miles on it and it was made for cars dating 1979-1985. my guess is its about as old as your car. but who knows when they stopped making them.
