from what I've read on here from opinions, it NEGATIVELY affects everything, and not worth it, stick with the nikki

With my Racing Beat Holley and a street port I managed to get anywhere from 23-25 MPG on the highway down to the Rotary Rally a couple of years ago. Tune it right and it works well.

"tune it right"

I had no idea dyno tuning using wideband and egt results was the wrong way to tune. No wonder all of mine ran like shit.

I'm not dismissing anything. Just stating my experiences.

My Holley is part of the Racing Beat kit. Adjusted it according the instructions and it has been good to me. Even had to change out the jets down in North Carolina, adjusted it and ran just as good. Doesn't like turns like all of the Holleys, but after adjusting my driving style, I have managed to drive around it.

Other info of use is I am still running the OEM electonic ignition AKA not direct fire (MSD coils, NGK wires, NGK plugs). Fuel pump is the Racing Beat Mallory pump.

I thought the same about Dellorto DHLA from RB until I hogged out my nikki.

Never had a Nikki on my car. Only test drove another bone stock SA 6 months before I got mine running on the RB Holley, which had came with the car. Don't really remember anything from the test drive. My only other experiences with 1st Gens is with my buddy's GSL-SE.

I was the same way. Except I only experienced my Edelbrock. Figured it was the bee's knees. Then I learned how bad the V8 carbs are in the corners. Now I can whip it with the best of them and add power during a corner; not just feathering it and adjusting my driving style.

Shouldn't have to adjust driving style. The carb should work regardless of the g forces the car is experiencing.

I really want to try a stock Nikki on a 12a some day.

Stock Nikki = disappointment. Stock Venturis at 20mm are too small for our engines.

My car also came with a Holley and I am far from pleased with it. On my bridgeport it stutters in multiple places. Havent tried getting after the tune yet but if I had the money Id ditch it altogether.

I have a Holley 600, it's not bad, but I prefer the Dellorto I had on my old GSL.
