Holley 600 Metering plate
 

anyone know what size metering plate RB uses on the secondary side of the 600cfm carbs?

my car seems to pull hard up to about 5500rpm or so then the power starts to fade out. even with mechanical secondaries. i'm thinking of trying a larger metering plate to see if i can get a bit more pull into the high rev's.

hmmm, i dont think you can tune the secondaries on the rb ones. looking at my friends RB holley setup, there is no metering plate on the secondary side. i think that's how all the 4160 style carbs are. which suuuuuuux. unfortunatley you are going to either have to richen up more on the primaries or you could maybe get away with raising the float level some and force more fuel down :p:

if that does have the metering plate, then you dont swap those out. you should just be able to change jets. open it up and have a look :D

yeah i had it opened up before, the 600 uses plates and not jets. i've heard of conversion kits to go to a metering block on the secondary side but i thought if maybe i could find out what size RB uses i could just step it up a notch and see if that helps.

use a number 9.

you can still use the one you have and drill the holes out to your desired size. say 66 or .066 drill bit. you can find them that small working with jewlery. mine are at 72.
