higher compression rotors
 

since a ported rotary makes all the power in the high end, imagine how much more power you could make with say 11:1 comp rotors or higher. has anyone ever had custom rotors machined to have extra high comp ratios? im building a 13B bridgeport and it would be awesome to have some like that, i could get a lot more power out of it.

as i read that thought about your commet this ocured to me. to raise the compression you would make the little dip smaller thats on the rotor surface. but theni thought about it more. that means that there would be less volume for a intake charge. so you won't get as much fuel/air in the intake cycle. so to raise the compression wouldn't it make sense to modify/fabricate the housing rather than the rotor so you don't loose the amount that you can take it? jsut my thoughts on it. i'm not sure if it's right though, but it makes sense.

The change in volume with high comp. rotors is so tiny that it's easily offset by the gains from the extra compression.

Also, you can't modify the housing because it needs to be a certain shape for the rotor to follow the trochoid path. Even a slight change in the clearances would probably cause the engine to seize.

Just boost it.

is the rotor face a seperate piece or is it all one piece? if it is seperate you could have a machine shop make custom rotor faces. if it isnt seperate, how would you get the indentations in the face smaller, in a way that would be durable?

Racing Beat sold high compression rotors for a while and discontinued it because, I quote "It didn't work".

Can u elaborate on "it didnt work" ?

It means they didn't sell enough. :p:

get the faces cut off
get new ones, extra thick and with no recess
weld them on and then smooth it out

grind it to tolerances and shape and them balance

If you want more juice, just boost or port it.
