I have rebuilt 4 rotary engines and more piston engines than most people have owned...Oil additives are nothing but trouble..Choked oil pick-up screens, clogged oil passages to the head, and numerous other problems are caused by additives such as Lucas Mucas and Motor honey..All you are doing is changing the viscosity, which is taking away from the lubricity...Sure, it might quiet some noisy valves, but at what cost?...Engines, and specifically oil pumps are not designed to flow fluids of that viscosity through them, especially when cold..So you also increase wear on startup...And the issue of foaming....

Not trying to rag on your reply, but there is a reason that OEM's and Professional racers don't use or reccomend them.

If you have had good luck, then great...But the general consensus of people in the know (professional racers, engine builders, Oil experts/engineers) think differently..

To each his own...

one question??? if you all are saying that all the smoking is a sign of a rebuild then what is the big deal if you use this stuff to prolong the inevitable?? No need to argue... :wallbash:

If you have come to that conlcusion, then this debate is a rather moot point...The most important thing is that you enjoy the car no matter what you do...Rx7s are addictive, just to warn you..

Good luck with your rebuild...There are several great shops out there that do wonderful work...
