HELP removing stuck O2 sensor

I'm trying to remove the old O2 sensor on my 84 GSL-SE. Only the damn thing seems to be seized, or stuck as hell. It's a tight spot to get leverage on a wrench, and the only wrench I have is an adjustable wrench. Any ideas on how to get the damn thing unscrewed?

Thanks

You really need a closed end wrench to get it, and then I put a pipe on it and got it loose. It’s going to be tight.

Douce it in penetrant, heat it with a torch, and then use the box wrench with a pipe. Use copious ammounts of anti-Seize on your new one.

they sell O2 sensor sockets. go buy one from autozone or wherever, it's about $12, and then return it after u use it. :D

o2 sensor removal

Hey, I changed the O2 sensor on my SE not too long ago. I ended up using a big metric wrench I believe, which fit just right. Now, I had the open end of the wrench, and the round closed off end which angles a bit. I disconnected the wiring for the sensor, put the closed end of the wrench over the wiring and down onto the sensor so that the open end angles down toward the ground. With the wrench on there, you can get to it just underneath the car behind the front tire. I had to put another wrench on the end of the first wrench just to get enough torque on it to get it off, but it worked. I hope I explained that so it's understood?! Didn't have to jack the car up to turn the wrench either once it was on there. Good luck.

Alright alright

What size box wrench is it? It looks like a 22 mm, since I have a 21 mm that is just barely too small to get a hold of it.

Thanks for your help.

Want to say it was a 7/8" wrench or you can run up to Auto-Zone the rent the O2 tools for free, well you give the $15.00 and they give it back when you return the tools.
