Help Please!!!
Ok i removed my rats nest and i when i start the car,Makes a LOUD ASS noise!Sounds like the belt sliping(alternator) < I didnt put the dual one (yet) But i'm worried is a vacuum leak or something else? It's Loud and i cant hear where it comes from. Could it be a vac leak? Would it be that loud?......Will i get a check engine light if i have a vac leak?
Thanks guys.............Sorry "ABOOT" the bad grammar |
Look at the ACV block off plate, if you use a chunk of metal that is not thick enough this can cause a very loud vacuum leak (I did this before lol) Make sure to take a trouble light and ensure that you have all the vacuum lines hooked up at the base of the carb. But you say it sounds like a belt slipping??? Like a loud squeeling??? The big thing with removing the rats nest is checking your connections over and over making sure they are tight or else you will have problems.
And I forgot to mention if this doesnt help take a can of carb cleaner and spray it around areas that are potential vacuum leak spots. If the idle increases you have found where the leak is... |
That could be it!!! Thanks ........One more thing tho,My car is A GSL-SE ,With the TII manifolds and stock ECU......I have the block off plates and i used silicone sealant .....< No gasket material! LOL I knew that woulnt be enough :D ......I'll check that tomorrow.....Thanks again

Another question? Where can i get gasket material? A big picece that i can cut and make my own seals or gaskets?
|
most local autostores have big pieces of gasket material that you can cut to shape. My local auto parts store has a 3 pack that you can buy with a 3 different types of material, cork, and 2 rubber ones of different thicknesses
|
Sweet thanks....What would be better? cork or rubber?
|
I would use rubber with a good silicon on it to seal it up nicely, make sure to snugg it up nice and tightly
|
OK! I'll do that
Thank You sir :bigthumb: |
Runs Perfect again!!!! Hooray!!!!!!!!!
I put the new gaskets and Gasket sealant Turns out U cant Use Blue silicone sealant in parts where gas flows :ret: Didnt read the intructions :ret: .......No More LOUD Vacuum leaks!!!! :bigthumb: |
