If money's a concern, you can find a less expensive already-rebuilt engine on the nasa forums or on here. But I also understand wanting to do it yourself, make sure it's done right, etc. Are you going to get other housings? I'm collecting engines for the housings alone, they're getting hard to find, especially 12A.

can you mix match plates? meaning use different housing with different rotors from multiple 12a engines ? for example I am opening an engine started last week and have two other engines at home if for example a housing of the one I'm opening is bad can I use a housing from the other engine but still use the same rotor?

started on Sunday 29th. I had to stop there because I did not have a 2 1/8 socket fot the canter nut which I will get tomorrow to continue to my disassemble process

Looking good :icon_tup: You could pick a 2 1/8 socket at Sears for about $26 bucks.

well this is what I found; do you guys think the rotor can survive on these conditions???

85TIIDEVIL 02-03-11 09:21 PM

It might clean up well but the big question is if all the seals come out / none stuck ...?

^^^^^ What he said... and MEASURE.... MEASURE.... MEASURE

busa1120 02-10-11 11:00 PM

Claned the rotors only one survived!

All seals came out fine with no prob but the other rotor had like 3 side seals that got stuck and did now want to come out with anything I tried, so I have to open my other engine to get a rotor
