Mazdatrix sells the correct one. They break up their categories by year. 79-82 then 83-85. You probably clicked on the 79-82 one.

It does not look anything like the one that is supposed to fit. Maybe if you take your old one off and take it down to a parts store they might be able to match.

Just take the old hose to a hydralic repair shop, most of the time they can give you some good hose, cut it to length, even replace your fittings, it's what I did for my oil cooler lines and they are really great quality, also guarenteed till 1750 psi :D

This is a common problem since oil drips from the beehive until this hose rots through and bursts. usually people try to drive all the way home and they overheat the engine requiring replacement of several orings. Or worse.
If they don't have the right RX-7 hose, look around in their collection for a Mustang hose that's close enough to work. In a pinch, you can fit off-the-shelf 5/8 heater hose (usually available at hardware stores as well as autostores, too), but it's a struggle to snake that hose in and over the nipples: I did it once and then bought the proper hose for each car and put it in the bin. Replace those crappy old wire hose clamps with stainless screw types. One time I didn't and, sure enough, the hose popped off the nipple a couple months later. |
