heat stroke
ok...i finally got my car running and it started heating up, so i did a quick drain and fill and changed the thermostat...it ran pretty good for about 2 days now it started heating up again...I'm thinking of changing all the hoses because they're probably collapsed and hooking up a pressure tester too look for any leaks...is there any other reason why it could be heating up...if anyone has had this problem let me know how I could correct it thanx

2 things comes to mind:
1- bad fan clutch. 2-clogged radiator |
yeah i was thinking something could be clogged...thats why im changing the hoses...is there a way to check the fan clutch and determine if its bad...i dont doubt it though

try using a flushing agent, it might clean out any crap that may be clogging the rad. usually the hoses won't clog, though its probably a good idea to change them, some are known to burst. also check the metal coolant pipe on the passenger side, it runs from the bottom of the rad to where the heater core hoses come out of the firewall. another thing you could try is "rod out" pull the rad and take it in to the shop and they will clean out each of the rods.
