when doing the mod and only your high beams work but not your low beams could that be the relay. mind u i have the kit from danielstern

Are you getting power at the relay?? Check this with a light or multi meter. If you are, it could be the relay or you wired it wrong.

i didnt think u had to ground a relay and the 1 on my 7 doesnt even work at all with ground and red wire hooked up

i bought the VB one havent installed it yet. I'll give you the review when I get it in. It looks to be way better quality then some picture shows. So to everyone hating on it you can't hate on something you've enver really seen.

i will probably send the unit back since it doesnt work, it looked easy to hook up but i hope he takes it back :( :(

Why not just call or email him and ask for some better instructions and wiring diagrams? its really not that difficult.

your standard relay (which I'm assuming he uses) has 4 pins.

- ground
- sensor (connect this to your stock headlight wiring & switch)
- power from Batt
- power to head lights

Just repeat this for hi & low beams (using 1 relay for both high beams & 1 for both low beams)

riceburner, looks like you wired it all wrong. Yes you have to ground it! Nothing will work if its not grounded.

Each relay? Do you have a remote turn on, or old source of power to use as a turn on? Check that, if you have a power there you should have power coming out! And of course you are running a leed of the battery for the power?

ok lets say this i have a crx too that i got this set up for. I did the same exact thing to the crx like the 7 and the crx works except the crx doesnt have low beams

LOL. I was going to take some pics of mine and post instructions, but then realized that I was a dumbass and went through a lot more trouble than I needed to. So I don't want to use mine as an example.

However, I just dusted off the Audi (getting ready for winter already) and those headlights kinda suck too. So maybe I'll just do it on that, since its all the same anyway. I'll see what I can do, but I've been working seven days a week for months now, and there's no end in site.

Headlight Rewiring Project

H4 Headlight Connectors (2) $7 NAPA LS6246
Bosch 30 amp relays (2) $6 Parts Express 330-070
Inline mini fuse holder (2) $5 NAPA BK 7823103
Fuses (mini) 20 amp High Beam $2.69 pack of 5 NAPA

Split Loom (1/4” and ½”)

ok this is in the subject of driving lights, my 83 Rx-7 has factory driving lights, and one is busted, So I was thinking of replacing them with a new set of driving lights, I've installed driving lights b4 on my 94 Mercury but this is new for me seeing as it already has driving lights.

So what exactly are you asking?? How to replace the headlight on our 1st gens??

Well see I'm not sure I've never hooked them up when there were factory ones b/4 so would I just splice them into the old wires or would I have to rewire it all?

Use the current wiring if it is still in good shape...

Just a questions ... the fuses that you guys are putting in ... where exactly are you putting them? Inbetween the inputs of the low/high beams? or just at the 12Volt source for both relays?

Well I Was shopping for the parts today, I ran into a lil problem The part underlined above is no longer sold. They have a smaller 18ga version, but that just defeats the whole purpose.

You can use the relay without the adapter. I didn't use any at all, just wired straight to the relay and mounted the relay in the engine compartment. The adapters just let you unplug the entire relay if you need to replace it, my way you have to unplug each wire from the relay. No big deal...
