Header hangs too low? Gsl-se

Anyone have a problem when they installed a new header (Racing beat Street header but I think its from a second Gen). Anyway, when its installed its way low, lost some ground clearance. I am wondering if its the motor mounts maybe? Know of a source or a fix / test for the mounts? I think raising the engine slightly under the hood will help with the ground clearance issue.

Thanks

VB, Mazdatrix, RB, Napa probably too.

Yeah Mazdatrix should have your motor mount.

I just wanted to know if this is a common problem, I want to get a header for my GSL-SE too. Have you lowered your car? Does it scrape on things? (Ouch)

Thanks

although not a -SE both of my 13B equipped RX-7's have RB headers. The headers do not hang low. Maybe the 2nd gen headers do that for a reason?

13b in my 1st gen with the 1st gen 13b header with no problems.

:( Not the answer I was hoping for LOL Yeah I got a second gen 13B header in my first gen. IT scrapes on speed bumps, and my muffler shop basically welded the cat (replacement catco) on the outlet flange of the header (not a bolt on job LOL). Im gonna raise the motor hope I dont mess up my alignment (drivetrain). I think that might help before I go try to find another header.
Thanks all!

I got a second gen header on my SE and I have no problems.

Raising the motor doesn't sound good to me, it'll raise your center of gravity a bit making it handle a bit worse. The throttle body(the RE-EGI thing) is already very close to hitting the hood, so I bet you won't be able to close the hood over it anymore. Also, I don't think it would even work unless you also move the tranny crossmember up and modify the shifter housing so it lets the rear of the tranny come up more. It's just not a good idea to raise the engine.

Modify the header so it doesn't bend down so far, it'll be a lot easier than moving the engine.

Has the car been lowered or not?

If so, how much?

This could be happening because the mounts are bent or the rubber is cracked. The engine sits lower in a 2nd gen than a 1st so it's hard to believe the 2nd gen manifold would sit lower.
