header ?

So i am going to purchase a RB streetable header i was wondering if it will bolt directly up to the bonez cat replacement pipe i have. I also just have a canister muffler that is fairly loud and i was wondering if any one knows how much louder will a header make my already loud car thanks

Alex-7 06-15-06 10:56 AM

A header will make it quite a bit louder.

Don't know about the test pipe.

But I promise if you spring for the complete system with presilencers you will not regret it.

its goin to get really freakin loud....u might want to go ahead and get the pre-silencer...it will quite down alittle

thegoatc 06-15-06 11:49 AM

does anyone know what else i could do to make it quiter without purchasing a presilence and still useing my cat replacement pipe

A turbo will quiet things down a bit.

Yeah.....there's really no way around it. You're going to need an exhaust with some sort of presilencer(s) unless you like attracting unwanted attention. I'm pretty sure the test pipe won't work because the header doesn't bolt up to the stock exhaust but don't quote me on that.

thegoatc 06-15-06 01:39 PM

that is what i was thinking and i already attract attention alot of it too

the presilenser's are just so expensive i dont know, anyone else have any bright idea's

thanks alex i will get right on the turbo, fmic, stand alone fuel management, and all the amenities that go with it. althow i do have a se that i am waiting for a turbo car donor so i can have a turboed se but this is my daily driver that i want to put the header on so i really dont want a turbo expecally with my lead foot and gas being 3 bucks a gallon.

Do a search on eBay for the XR-1.

How many thousand times are people gonna ask this question? Just use the search option. Theres a 1000 different opinions and answers already out there. I'd suggest header, leaving the stock muffler and buying a cheapo pre silencer at the muffler shop and installing an electric cutout if you want to race at all. If not then why buy a header in the first place?

DON'T go from header to one straight through muffler. i HAVE to keep it below 2k until thursday so that the cops dont hear me a mile away! i wish i could get a sound/ video clip up here but my comp. doesnt recognise my camcorder...
