Have almost all fo the wiring figured out fro my 89 swap except for one thing...

Well my 89 swap into a 85 GS is progressing quite nicely, and allmost all of the wiring questions have been figured out.

The one I have now, is because the engine harness is seprate from the rest of the car, how would I go about getting power to the engine wiring harness (passenger side)? I dont think the 89 ECU will do much good if it doesnt have any power.....

Does it need a switched +12V or constant?

Of all things, that should be the easiest to figure out.
Worst case run a new (fused) line from the battery, with a Triggered Relay that works off the ignition switch.

did you possibly take any notes? how hard was it? any pictures?

Ahhh the big wiring dilema good luck with that one I couldn't figure out how to put an SE 13b into my GS and I didn't want to take the time to do it. The 12a harness is an odd one and I think the biggest part was the whole ignotion thing cause the ECU needs that info for the fuel blah blah blah.

I'm just sort of confused as to what connector I would connect the power to.

but the wiring for the ignition... is just mimic an fc setup only where its needed.

Much to my amazement with the engine, transmission and ecu, and passenger side engine harness removed, I havent found somthing that wount work, correctly, because of that part of the wiring on the pasenger side not being connected. I feared it would kill everything.

ANY WAY... there are two connectors on the fc 89+ passenger side engine harness on the interior.

ONE right by the firewall and the ones that go to the ECU. then there are the unused connectors on the ecu, for the body harness.

Where woudl I go about connecting the current to get that harness working?
