hard gas pedal
 

I was driving my brothers 84 gsl and I noticed the gas pedal was somewhat stiff. It would also go to the right side a bit so I don't know if the problem was that it was hitting the carpet. I check the throttle cable later on that day and traced it to the carb. I tried giving it gas by hand but the throttle mechanism was stiff when turning it too. A hell of alot stiffer than in my Toyota mr2 turbo. Is there a way to adjust this so it is not that stiff? Does it need WD40 or something like that?

clean all the lingkage on the carb, and replace the throttle cable that should do the trick

Check the return spring too.
