The stock FB speedometers are not too accurate at the top end of the scale. Rxcetera and I have had FD's pacing us and telling us we were going 230 km/hr. That was at somewhere above 7000rpm in 5th gear or so I recall, just flying with the throttle floored for 10 minutes straight lol. Whether that's exactly accurate, who knows; it surprised me as being faster than I thought I could go. And we aren't even turbo

I remember when my car was stock, I could get it up to 190 or so but it would take ages and ages in comparison. With the Dellorto, it takes what feels like no time to hit that speed, and it's still pulling hard at 180-190. It's a huge difference. I can just imagine what a turbo must be like....

I'll say, the end of fourth comes anywhere from 160 to 180 depending on how it feels :p

i like to go fast around corners. less chance of a losing my license and more of a chance to crash and burn. however mike, you owe me a ride now at psycho speed. a 120 is the fastest i've gone. in my camry on a downhill on the wk. then mr speed-de-limiter dicided to ruin the party.

Yep, after the two recent events on the forum (if you are aware of what I'm talking about), caution will be the order of the day for me this year. Be careful with this stuff guys.

Same with mine... Some days it will hit 180 easy in fourth others it seems to top out at 165...?
I've taken the car to 210kph with no problems, didn't seem like the front was lifting at all. Totally solid.

Ah, but how fast can you get to 190kph?

Also, while I like going very fast, I'm not keen on doing it on any public roads. There are too many unknowns, and I don't trust other drivers. Once I get my car on a track though, it'll be different story.

PS. The Zoom article indicates that Rices diff is 4.44:1, so by my calcs, he would get 226 kph @ 8400rpm in 5th.

Of course, that might not be the only center he has for the car though.

You need to loose those 22" tall tires

BTW.. 7200rpm with a 22" tall tire with the .756 5th gear would put you at around 152mph

Thats what I figured... It was just a little past the hash mark after 140... Like it goes 140 and then hash mark, it was a little past that. So I was assuming 150 Thanx Randy..

I was plaesed that AJC13B's experience confirmed mine, that is at about 130mph[210 khp] the gen 1 with stock suspension looses grip at the front and becomes aerodynamically unstable. A 12A is a bit worse due to lower weight. I have hit that point a few times early in the morning with no wind and two lanes for security, with any cross wind it would be too dangerous.

153 in a stock GSL? I did not know they kept to the metric system in Florida after the Spanish moved out!

I have the experience and the skid marks on my neck to prove it as well

Dialing-in more caster, with caster/camber plates, can help high speed stability quite a bit.

Ok, so you got me there
It takes only a few seconds to get to 170kph from 110kph.
170-190 however, takes me a bit longer.

Oh, and before i get flamed for driving that fast on public roads, i was on a country road, in the middle of nowhere. I could see at least 4-5k in front of me. Straight road, with nuthin' on it. The worst thing that could happen is, i drive off the side of the road into some wheat
But seriously, i agree with you S2-13BT. Nobody should EVER drive like that on public roads!!

As i said before.... I love the prairies!

Staying in 4th or shifting to 5th? 5th is such a dead gear

I'm not turbo'd, but it takes awhile for me to reach 120mph. and at that speed with the mode four i find the car very stable. thats with airdam, side skirts, and rear spoiler/wing. the mode one should effect how smooth you top out mike. speaking of mode one :: get it yet ??

Never been over 110 and that was an accident...Throttle stuck and I just kinda went with it for a little while, then it got shaky and scary so I pushed in the clutch...It was on I-90 east for those of you that know the area. 70 MPH speedlimit and nothing as far as the eye could see. I was outrunning my buddy in an Acura when the throttle stuck too, lol. We were both doing like 85 when mine stuck...Surprising how fast it goes from 85 to 110 in 4th downhill with a stuck throttle, lol.

~T.J.

EDIT: But mines not turbo though...Not yet anyway

Bill I got one word for ya: DEER

We have cool cars with classic shovel noses. I clipped a doe with an 80's Supra once, and got lucky that it flew across the roof instead of through the windshield as usually happens. Going through some relatively flat farmland, the damn thing jumped out of a ditch!
Hopefully y'all up there don't have the hunting-industry-enforced deer overpopulation we suffer from here in lower Michigan. My county was leading the USA in car-deer fatalties last year...

Hey, I'm just telling you what I saw on the gun in shiny red LED numbering.

Was his gun properly calibrated? I haven't a clue. Did my speedometer help me out at all? No, it was pegged long before I hit the bottom of the hill
